Starting the trial operation of the Sensory, Motor and Psychological Rehabilitation Center “at the Unit of the Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health Services” in Seflaq, which is affiliated to Saqultah in Sohag Governorate, which was equipped with the latest devices, funded by Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development and in cooperation with Kheir Wa Baraka Foundation and the New Woman Foundation. Such devices include; A computerized vertebral traction device and a shockwave therapy device for tendonitis, osteoarthritis, and arthritis, as well as an EEG device.

 

Dr. Sami Al-Najjar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag, announced that the Center provides a distinguished package of services, including; Rehabilitation of children with determination and motor rehabilitation of patients after orthopedic operations. The Center is provided with physiotherapists to fully provide the services entrusted to the Center.

 

The Center will provide its services to the people of the village and neighboring villages. It will also alleviate the suffering of a large number of patients and people of determination. In addition, an operating plan was developed for the Center to serve the largest possible number of patients.

 

Dr. Akram Ashour, Director of the Mental Health Hospital in Sohag, said that a number of psychologists and doctors have been assigned to follow up the cases that the Center will receive to provide them with treatment and psychological support.

 

It is worth noting that the preparing works of the Sensory and Motor Rehabilitation Center is part of the integrated development project for the villages of the Saqultah in Sohag Governorate, which is implemented by Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development in the governorate as part of its projects in the fields of community and economic empowerment in the villages of the Upper Egypt governorates. Such works include equipping and operating early childhood centers, sensory and motor rehabilitation centers, professional and vocational training, financing micro-projects, in addition to social protection initiatives.
